Eco Friendly Initiatives

Technology meets humanity

The world is not as it used to be. The spread of technology, need-centric interactions and avenues of instant gratification have robbed this generation of its innocence. Today's work-day is remote-controlled, and the warmth of the human touch has been long replaced by the lazy arm of software.

But this is the story of a company incepted before the cyber age. When human values really mattered and it was more important to be right, than be successful. It is the tale of artists imbued with traditional virtues like integrity, the human spirit and good old fashioned genuineness, yet graced with foresight and a sense of the future. Do read on to see how a genuine concern for the nature, makes some people bigger and better and some companies more effective at changing the world.

Better Living

Back in 2000, the term "eco friendly" was relatively new and social responsibility still a novelty among Indian builders. Then an unassuming realty company in Mumbai showed how it was crucial to care not just for the occupants of their buildings, but also the environment. And even to this day, some of the green initiatives launched by the Company, are still being widely practiced.

Environment Consciousness

For a company so ahead of its time, Ecohomes has garnered a very traditional reputation for its residential and commercial properties across the city. "Traditional", because the Group still follows eco-friendly practices since its inception, still provides quality construction materials and processes as it always used to, and adheres to its enviable track record of delivering on time and as per schedule. With a name that's inspired by eco-friendliness, the Group is among the first in India, to introduce a range of eco-friendly initiatives: For instance, we introduced rainwater harvesting and solar water heating into our projects way back in 2004, when it was still relatively unheard of. Now we're incorporating solar street lighting & solar power for common lights into an upcoming project in Karjat.

Some of the other eco-friendly practices adopted by us are:

  • Recycling of sewage / sullage water for non domestic use
  • World-class energy efficient practices to make buildings energy efficient, leading to optimum energy utilization for air-conditioning and heating
  • Maximizing natural ventilation and lighting
  • Use of solar energy for water heating & street lights
  • Use of materials such as fly-ash blocks and other recycled materials to prevent environmental degradation
  • Plantation of trees and creation of green spaces
  • Reduction of heat-island effect
